In Between Them

In Between Them is a weekly podcast featuring adults reflecting on their parents’ divorce—what they noticed as children, what they needed at the time, and what stayed with them into adulthood.

Hosted by Shannon, the show creates space for thoughtful, honest conversations often missing from the divorce landscape. Rather than legal advice or clinical theory, In Between Them centers on lived experience, offering parents, mediators, therapists, and legal professionals a rare, reflective perspective from those who grew up in the middle.

Each episode invites a guest to look back with clarity and nuance, sharing insights about communication, conflict, loyalty, grief, what was done well and what they wish had been different. The goal isn’t blame—it’s understanding and prevention. Guests contribute with the hope of building a resource that helps reduce the long-term emotional impact of divorce on children.

New episodes release every Monday.

From time to time, Shannon also welcomes expert guests—therapists, mediators, and other professionals—who help broaden the lens. These conversations explore why divorce dynamics unfold the way they do, why well-intentioned parents can still make decisions that negatively impact their children, and how professionals can more effectively reach parents and help them keep their kids at the center of the process.

By listening to both lived experience and professional insight, parents and practitioners alike can better understand how the choices made during separation echo long after the divorce is finalized.

Hi, I'm Shannon Darrow

I’ve Been Where You Are—And I Can Guide You Through

Years ago, I faced divorce with a newborn. The decade-long battle that followed—spanning two states, three attorneys, a custody evaluation, and challenging dynamics—drained me emotionally and financially. Yet that struggle became my strength. I transformed from reacting in ways that were destroying my soul to intentionally mastering my life and turning that darkness into light for others.

Now, I’m happily remarried, existing without daily conflict, and my child is joyful and grounded. Using my law school education, my negotiation and contract work for two decades in corporate America, and my personal experience, I’ve turned my life story into expertise, helping others avoid the same pitfalls. If you’re confused and overwhelmed, I know that feeling—and I know how to lead you to clarity and control.
